Sometime its great to clean up your storage. I once found $20.00 in an old handbag. Of course, if you were cleaning up the storage area of a record company the find could be much greater.
Which is exactly what occured at Soma Records. Check out this "gasp" of a quote:
“Imagine our surprise when we discovered a tape simply entitled ‘Daft Drive’. We hooked up the DAT machine and inserted the tape with the delicacy of a surgeon, pressing play and praying that for one, the tape contained what we hoped, and two, that it didn’t chew it like a dog chewing on a bone. In amongst the hiss and crackle, the most monstrous 909 kick drum thudded. Daft Punk’s Drive track had been rediscovered.”
Well how about that! A never before heard Daft Punk song just chilling in the storage room. The track is from 1994 and how timely this find! It will be released on the forthcoming, Soma Records 20 Years is a triple CD album. “Drive” wil be first track of the first CD.
