Whoops, read my tirade below if you must but yes, go to ticketweb, type in BEACHBOYS and get a tix for $70 after all service charges, etc. Is it worth it? It is to me. I just bought one. PS: my mistake? I didn't use caps… Now, here is my tirade…
I am not made of money and I am stuck in a crap position. Bands who want to put me on the press list, I wanna help by paying for my own tix, bands I want to put me on the press list won't because rock nyc isn't important enough.
And I had to pass on Brian Wilson's 3 day stand at Highline. $125 plus handling fees? I couldn't afford it.
So imagine my joy when, on a trip to bb King's I picked up this flyer. Figure $70 including handling fees to hear Wilson play Gershwin? That I would do.
I got home and proceeded to waste an hour trying to use the damn discount.
Finally, in frustration I figured I'd call Ticketweb itself.
Good idea? Apparently Ticketweb is on strike because no one answered the phone.
One more thing. What the fuck were they thinking of $125 a ticket?? Are you kidding on me? Is he giving us a lapdance or something??? Listen, I've been to Highline and it ain't that small a venue. If you are stuck on the balcony behind a pillar (as I was for Loudon Wainwright) you ain't seeing shit. Now they are stuck discounting tix and not even getting that right.
