Witches Shoes – Johanna And The Dusty Floor – A blues glory song with Johanna singing falsetto on the last line, "You don't know what love is". You know how everyone is telling you how Stevie Nicks is back? She is. Only it is Johanna channeling prime Nicks. If this gets in the right hands it will hit.

2. Time – Modern Hut

3. The Fear – Pulp – "You're gonna like it but not a lot…" Jarvis warns on this highlight off Pulps second greatest album.

4. Fast Lane – Bad Meets Evil – Better than just about anything Eminem put his name to in 2010, including that Rihanna track.

5. Long Sermon – Brad Paisley – Before he added sanctimony  to his faith.

6. Sealand – Art Brut

7. History Lesson Part II – Minutemen

8. Grey Riders – Neil Young – From 1984, I kinda underestimated it the first time, a country rock romp with a flecks of blue and red.

7. 1 + 1 – Beyonce – So who did write this?

8. Americano – Lady Gaga – Have you read the Rolling Stone cover story? She is a head case who needs a break. It makes you respect Madonna all the more for the strength she showed in dealing with the fame monster.

9. Brighter Than The Sun – Colbie Caillet – Growing on me.

10. Moonlight – Bob Dylan
