I think performing an album live is sorta lame. We've discussed it here a few times that an album generally isn't that epic to want to hear every song. Even 'concept albums' got a handful of lame in them.
But The Cure will be performing 1979’s Three Imaginary Boys, 1980’s Seventeen Seconds and 1981’s Faith live in Australia May 30th through June 1st at the Sydney Opera House.
Sounds pretty cool. The guys haven't aged well but my thought is that they can maintain the sound as it was always somewhat quirky so who'd know? The Cure’s lineup will include present and past members for the shows.
Most of us will not be in Australia at that time but fear not- it'll all be available on DVD quick as a wink. I can say if I ever had opportunity to perform an album in its entirety- I would absolutely pretend to skip like a real record would.
