The Make Music Festival in Pasadena In June

Los Angeles is definitively a music festival town, there are so many during the summer, and another one has just partially announced its line-up for June 18th:
Best Coast, Ra Ra Riot, Hello Seahorse, The Morning Benders, Ben L’Oncle Soul, The B Side Players, Zola Jesus, Kisses, Rocky Dawuni + Afro Funke sound system, Saint Motel, Tijuana Panthers, Jenny O, Tita Lima, Dustbowl Revival, Carla Morrison, DJ Anthony Valadez, with more to be announced.

The Make Music festival will actually occur in Pasadena, located at around 8 miles from downtown Los Angeles, and the event is spread all over Downtown Pasadena, starting at 11 am.

And the best part? This is a free festival, which celebrates World Music Day, the Summer Solstice, giving the opportunity to spontaneous music performers and amateurs to take over sidewalks, parks, courtyards, alleys, building lobbies and show their musical talents in the streets.

This is actually the kind of event I enjoy, a festival at human scale, so let’s start the summer in music.
