Death Cab For Cutie's "You Are A Tourist"

Pop a buck in a vending machine press peanuts clank boom there it is.  You know right what you're going to get your happy you rip it open its snack time. No surprise no 'new fangled' no 'new direction' just nuts salt and a bag.

 That's Deathcab For Cutie.

The comfort of familiarity.  You needn't be afraid, they're not exploring new aspects of their art.  They're not inspired by seaweed.  They haven't found God or Zen or Gene Autry.

They are Deathcab For Cutie and they are staying the course.

Couldn't be happier.  Their new single "You Are a Tourist' is 100$% gen-u-ine Deathcabtastic.

I love it and Gibbards voice carries the vulnerability and tweak of that 14 year old boy sound I adore so much.
If you have not seen this band live please do.  They put all the Starbucks flannel plaids to shame.  They rule this genre, they're the Dork Daddy of um all and hearing this single today just made me all the more stoked for their upcoming lp Codes and Keys which isn't due to arrive until May 31st.

As much as I hate 'leaks' and track lists I may actually fall into the hype on this one.

The song is gloriously perfect.  All that time with teaser studio crap is proving well worth it.
