My Fave Tracks, Sunday, March 27th, 2011

1. Hello Fear – Kirk Franklin – I don't get Franklin's foreign policy on this new album,. It is all carried by the background voicalists. But why? Still, fair to middling gospel.

2. hn (feat Rick Ross) – Lil Wayne – Sure, Wayne got flow. Sure he can rhyme. But this ain't the wild and strange word play we go to Wayne for. And the sample is lousy.

3. Going Going Gone – Bob Dylan – Great line? "All that's gold does not shine"

4. The Winner Takes It All – ABBA – One of the great heartbreak songs, and the broken syntax just makes it sound more desperate.

5.Beautiful People (feat Benny Benassi) – Chris Brown – This was written by committee but orchestrated by Benny -who gets techno very, very well.

6. I Do – Colbie Collait – I sing along whenever she gets to "ooo, what did I get myself into…" and get funny looks from passersby.

7. Tears – MArsha Ambrosius

8. Only Ray Of Sunshine – Wesley Wolfe – The trick to Wesley's lyrical concerns is he is a happily married man disillussioned with all other aspects of his life: "What I thought was magic, was really sleight of hand".

9. No Sleep – Wiz Khalifa – # 1 on Itunes and no, i don't get tired of being right.

10. Caffeinated Consciousness – TV On The radio – The last 40 seconds are the best 40 seconds pf the year.
