We as a populace must never ever forget how fucking brilliant Elton John was. Before the hair plugs, before the “I’m Still Standing” days. Amazing stuff as I sit here listening to “Teacher I Need You” off of Don’t Shoot Me I’m Only The Piano Player. For some reason Elton thought he was from Texas or something in 1973… where were you? I was up to no good that’s for sure. So that’s today’s gentle tip. Go now and find this or Captain Fantastic or even Caribou which only sucked a bit. These are the glory days of Elton. Lets not forget that.
Cameron Crowe’s film The Union follows Elton and Leon Russell, as they produce a collaborative album. Meh, I suppose some may be interested in that but Im not.
The outdoor event, in Lower Manhattan, will kick off the event on 20 April. Elton John will perform after the screening.
That would be cool though I’m not sure how his act is aging. I couldn’t watch. There are too many fabulous early visions Id hate to be tainted with the semi parody hes become.
He is a legend and he does deserve respect but yeah, I’m not a fan of post feather wearing Elton.
According to published reports Elton John and Bernie Taupin were ‘obsessed’ with Leon Russell. So Ill give him a nod , totally not familiar with his work.
