1280x720-MSv

1 – Knockin’ On Mine – Paul Westerberg – In retrospect, 12 Songs could stand as the final Replacements album, if anything it is even more professional than we were used to. This song is Paul at his best, the dodgy depressionalism getting burnt in the summer and wet in the rain – A

2 – It’s A Wonderful Lie – Is he the Letterman of rock, a sort of consistent downer who is simple too clever for this business? – A

3 – Mi Ultimo Deseo (feat Tito Rojas) – Wisin – The problem here is Tito sings circles round Wisin – B+

4 – High By The Beach – Lana Rel rey – Here we go, the Daphne De Maurier, always the woman with a sorrow she refuses to keep secret enough waiting for Laurence Olivier to save her – A-

5 – When You Wasn’t Famous – The Streets – From one of the wittiest albums you’ll ever here, a hit job on celebrityhood – A

6 – 19th Nervous breakdown – The Rolling Stones – Their best song ever – A+

7 – Kill Your Sons – Tommy Keene – Great lyric, the psychedelic fade out is awesome – A

8 – Last Of The Twilight Girls – Tommy Keene – Major song for sure, it has a muscular peppiness – A

9 – When Your Train Comes In (Live) – Gary Clark Jr – I got it, he don’t wannabe a bluesman, but he is only great when he lets his guitar take care of business – A

10 – Grinder – Gary Clark Jr – Five songs released off his upcoming album and exactly one good one, this is it – B
