When Queens of the Stone Age fans are all waiting for an eminent announcement – rumors are running wild since the band has tweeted ‘LA, Keep Your Eyes Peeled’ – Josh Homme knows how to stay very busy with his other projects, such as Eagle of Death Metal.

The EODM band is the joke-y side of the Queens and, a few days ago, they have released a new video for their song ‘Complexity’, the lead single from their 4th album ‘Zipper Down’, set to be released on October 2nd. Wait, they had already this audio version on Youtube showing them in a Star Trek fantasy, but this time Homme and Jesse Hughes, aka Boots Electric, are playing their SNL’s version of Sprockets with black turtlenecks and intellectual glasses, which suit Homme very well I must say. Of course the joke is that this weird Krautrock-y German parody totally clashes with the music, a not-so-complex rocker that would require much more hip action.

The video was directed by frequent QOTSA family collaborator Liam Lynch, and despite the black and white seriousness, Homme and Hughes still look like two badass guys. Eagle of Death Metal haven’t released an album since their 2008’s ‘Heart On’, so this back in business chapter will sure be noticed by fans who can already pre-order Zipper Down on iTunes.

Meanwhile, what about this QOTSA rumor? The metal band may be playing a small club this week or just announcing their Halloween show or whatever… just waiting, very patiently…
