1 – Why Do Fools Fall In Love – Frankie Lymon And The teenagers – I consider myself a serious music fan, not stuck in any particular decade, way on top of modern pop but I am damned if I can find anything on the charts as great as the terrific teen wonder – A+

2 – Blueberry Hill – Fats Domino – “I got my thrillllssss…”

3 – At The Hop – Danny And The Juniors – That piano break is so exciting, it is like when they drop the bass… – A

4 –Carol – Chuck Berry – step into my machine so we can cruise on out is the war cry of every red blooded teenager since the beginning of the world or longer – A+

5 – She Said Yeah – Paul McCartney – This is such a great cover, it is as great as all those Beatles early covers. And his heart was broken as he sang it, wait till you get to his scream – A

6 – All Shook Up – Paul McCartney – He actually gets the “uh huh’’s – A

7 – April Come She Will – Simon And Garfunkel – Man, Anne Bancroft was hot – A

8 – Army Of Noise – Bullet for My Valentine – Heads down hard rock roars in the face of boredom for no good reason – B-

9 – Missing Pieces – Jack White – His straight up masterpiece of tremendous proportions, and it is so good that his last album, which was probably better than I thought, felt like a let down.

10 – Mountain At My Gate – Foals – Maybe the best UK rock of the year, a tremendous grinding sound that lifts off at the end – A-
