– Worth It – Danny Brown And Clams Casino – I love Danny’s voice and it is always great to hear him perform a new song and this one with New Jersey Producer Clams Casino is excellent, a very hot piece of self examination with a techno weird sound effects and a clipped half beat. Download it here – B+

– Listening To Singing – Iris DeMent – A lovely song, sounds a lot like a few of her others but with a better hook – B+

– Your Smiling Face – James Taylor – An absolute highlight of last nights gig, it’s the opening song off JT and it has a deep joyfulness worthy of Marvin Gaye or Stevie Wonder at their happiest – A+

– Tonight’s The Night (Gonna Be Alright)- Rod Stewart – This was the end for Rod and me for a long long time, though in retrospect… it still sucks – C+

– Margaritaville – Jimmy Buffet – Absolute genius, where  loneliness meets a lost shaker of salt. And we all know whose fault it is – A+

– Got To Give It Up, Pt 1 – Marvin Gaye – The original and still champ – A

– Don’t Give Up On Us – David Soul – A Huge MOR ballad by Hutch, they don’t make wallpaper like this any more – C

– Handy Man – James Taylor – Where did he steal that damn hook from? – C+

– Yesterday Once More – The Carpenters – Oh, yeah – A

– Rainy Days And Mondays – The Carpenters – This is the opposite of David, this is truly soulful stuff – A+
