2 – Tom Dooley – The Kingstown Trio – One of my Mum’s favorites, she considered the the name a euphemism and the “hang down your head” tickled her – B

3 – Pretty Pimping –  Kurt Vile – Kurt in Americana mode -nothing special – B-

4 – (I Love You) For Sentimental Reason – Sam Cooke – My favorite version, more completely felt than any I’ve ever heard: man, what a voice. I am baffled by his genius – A+

5 – Mysterious Ways – On your knees, boys – A

6 – Queen Of Hearts – Fucked Up – Their masterpiece, near the start of their masterpiece – A

7 – No Future Part IV: No Future Triumphant – While he warned us years ago that our lives would be over before we knew it, here, in the context of the rock opera, not only does he not want to be out of bed, soon he won’t even be awake – B+

8 – A More Perfect Union – Titus Andronicus – The opener of their masterpiece, as I ready to review “More Perfect Union” -a nine minute centerpiece for the newbie, it might be worth reminding everybody what the competition is – A+

9 – Already Gone – The Eagles – Misogynistic? Maybe, but that victory song stuff is aces with me – A

10 – Sitting On A Fence – The Rolling Stones –  They don’t write em like this any more – A+
