1 – David – Laura Marling – A new one off her Director’s Cut version of Short Movie, a lovely song: completely perfect Laura territory, I’ve heard her play this live (on youtube) and she performs it in a different key here -not a great idea – B+
2 – All Around My Hat – Steeleye Span – It hasn’t aged because it was already old when they recorded it, like travelling back to the 1500s only to discover they’ve invented the electric guitar – B+
3 – Can’t Be Bothered – Tommy Stinson – The next time the Foos call themselves classic rock, play em this -now this is classic rock – B+
4 – Big Me – Foo Fighters – This is first rate emo rock pop, they never came withing a million miles of sustaining it – A-
5 – Am I Wrong – Nico And Venz – This isn’t a bad song, really, but what? Was it that good??? – B-
6 – That’s How You Know – Nico And Venz – This might well follow it up the charts -hook on hook on Bebe Rexha – B-
7 – For No One – The Beatles – the “wakes up, makes up” with its tail end pun, is masterful – A+
8 – Everyday Jesus – Anthony Brown And Group Therapy – Woooooah! This is gorgeous jazz flecked harmony vased soul faith Christian music. The lyrics? Well, just guess – B
9 – Hold Me Close – David Essex – Never before has a cockney accent been used to such devastating effect on young girls -unless Davy Jones – A
10 – Iris (Home Me Close) – U2 – Far be it for me to ,mock other people’s grief over their mother’s passing, but if I was to, this is the precise tsong that would cause me to – C-
