New Americana – Halsey – “We are the Americana, high on legal marijuana”, Halsey says and at first you gotta think she is serious but by the time she quotes an entire verse of a Biggie hit, well, this is a witty electro pop winner from the urban jungle – B+
Real Sisters – Future – After doing himself nothing but favors all year, here is a a strange atrial beat track that doesn’t clock – C+
Kings Never Die – Eminem with Gwen Stefani – What were once game changing artistic breakthroughs are now tired shtick – D+
My Love (featuring Drake) – Majid Jordon – The Toronto based production team who came to the forefront with “Hold On, we’re Coming Home” fall asleep at the switch with this disappointing pseudo follow up, what were they thinking of? What a lame hook – C-
Closure – Jill Scott – Nice to hear the r&b diva back again, she never broke the way she should have, and this hot screamer is a goodie – B
Blue Bandana – Jerrod Newman – Bro country pro releases anemic country track, the follow up to his breakthrough but not up to much – C
Freedom – Pharrell Williams – Better than the name might have you expect, this is a groove and a half and I’ll take it over “Happy” any day, nice metaphor, played out very well – B+
Handcuffs – Prince Royce – Hey, did romeo santos think he’d have the entire playing field to himself forever? This Bronx Bachata performer has gone all in English and the move works well for him – B
