3 – Freeze The Saints – Stephen Malkmus – The keyboard player joked “Neil DIamond” after Stephen sang this at 4 Knots yesterday, maybe he has a point but maybe that doesn’t lessen this lost gem – A
4 – Kings Never Die – Eminem – With Gwen Stefani 1) it’s not true and b) Eminem has finally grown into the cliche he has always promised to be – D+
5 – Dear Future Husband – Kidz Bop Kids – Bleeps the bad word, and with this the franchise has lived out its usefulness. They are fucking K-Tel – C-
6 – You Got Spirit, Kid – Coheed And Cambria – Is this their pop move? If so, it is a killer track, gluey, smart and lively… a real good track. I offer it to Kidz Bop Kids, who can change the “fuck” to “flip” and redeem themselvz – A-
7 – Disorder – Meatbodies – California scene making guitarist Chad Ubovich fronts his own raucous rock band, the closer yesterday at 4 knots was somewhere between drone and alt rock – B
8 – Cherry Bomb – The Runaways – Cherie Currie’s masterpiece of sexual exploitation, but at what price? – A
9 – Fake Friends – Joan Jett – Her masterpiece, off her best album – A
10 – I Can’t Feel My Face – The Weeknd – “It was written by Ali Payami, Savan Kotecha, Max Martin, Abel Tesfaye and Peter Svensson and produced by Payami, Martin and Svensson” -that’s not a song, it is a summit meeting. Ps, between the lot of them they couldn’t find a better metaphor? – B
