It may be the best thing I have seen all week, a children book re-imagining the life of Kanye West with Kim! It’s so sweet you want to hug him and this is not an easy thought to have… However I have to explain, there is no sign of narcissistic behavior what so ever, no Yeezus aggressive quotes and basically this Kanye, all pink and pastel colors, is a sweetheart. Kim has had a giant makeover too, well she is a chick, a chicken, a cute yellow one, basically a baby. And the two love each other obviously!
Illustrated by Zak Tebbal, Bound 2gether tells the simple story of Kanye losing his chick, after playing with other chickens: ‘One day, Kim saw Kanye playing with some other chickens, which made her upset. She was so upset that she decided to run away!’ Bad Kanye! But be reassured, he finds her again at the end of the story… ‘And that is when Kanye finally realized One good chick is worth one thousand chickens.’
If you are a fan, you have realized that it is actually an adaptation of his music video ’Bound 2’, into a kids’ book, and you can see the whole story here. Tebbal will be soon graduating from New York’s famed School of Visual Arts, so he is a little chicken too, with, apparently, a lot of talent and humor.
‘I love Kanye West,’ Tebbal declared to Rip It Up while explaining that this book is the product of a school assignment. ‘I think he’s a genius. While we were sharing ideas, I mentioned that I wanted to do something with Bound 2, and someone was like, ‘If I had a kid, I’d never want them to see Kanye West’. So I thought, well if you can’t show your kids Kanye West, they’re missing out! So I decided to do a children’s book for kids to enjoy Kanye West.’
That’s a good idea, and the ultimate wish for Tebbal?
‘I hope they see the book eventually, that’s the goal! I think they’d like it. I think they have a great sense of humor from what I’ve seen, and also they have a little baby, too – North West – so hopefully they’ll read it to her some day.’
And that’s would be very cute indeed except when North discovers that her mother is a chicken.
