– (If Paradise Is) Half As Nice – Amen Corner – Based on an Italian hoit and turned down by the Tremeloes, it was a huge hit in this Shel Talmy arrangement. The calling card was Andy Fairweather Low’s raspy vocals which seemed to belong to another form of sound than teen pop – A-

– Feeling OK – Best Coast – Now I’ve heard the new Best Coast album a coupla times, I am happy to anoint it one of the best of the year, this song is the most careful modulation, it’s love that has Bethany feeling alright… and by the next song she is fine without love. Let that be a lesson about California girls – A

– 24 Frames – Jason Isbell – A true beauty from a on the verge of one of those those careers… off his upcoming album – A

– Outfit – Drive By Truckers – The song in which Isbell began pulling away from the pack – A

– Trap Queen – Fetty Wap – I am not convinced by Fetty’s rapping or his singing, but the arrangement of the track is major – B+

– Stand For – Ty Dolla $ign – This is a strange one, more piano than I’m used to, and in this song at least “bitches” is a synonym women. An odd little call for unity – B

– It AIn’t Ne – T-Pain, T.I. – Has their ever been a greater use of autotune? It isn’t about singing off key, it is about sounding like you’ve touched down from a different emotional planet – B+

– Who Killed Davey Moore Moore – Bob Dylan – Why and what’s the reason for? – A

– Last Thoughts On Woody Guthrie – Bob Dylan – Bob reads the poem of a lifetime in honor of Guthrie – A

– If You Gotta Go, Go Now – Sexual predator in swinging London, and whatever the reason but you know, he is gonna be turning off the light and she won’t be able to leave in the dark.
