It is 4/20 so naturally everyone is having its little weed story, and Willie Nelson spoke to Rolling Stone to promote his new business, Willie’s Reserve or Willie’s Weed if you prefer, which will sell locally-grown marijuana to the masses, or at least this is what Willie is hoping for. Here are Willie’s promises:
‘I will make sure it’s good or it won’t be on sale’.
And since Willie is a weed connoisseur:
‘There should be a menu just like in a restaurant because there’s so many different kinds of pot that do many different things. It’s a good idea to have everything labeled for what it does, what it don’t do [and] how powerful it is.’
Willie is also very confident that he has made the right choice: ‘It’s just a matter of time in this country before it’s legal. I feel like I bought so much, it’s time to start selling it back!’ so basically he is doing a favor to the world, at least to the US. His weed will be grown in Colorado and Washington, where it’s legal.
Then Willie Nelson and his smoking buddy Merle Haggard premiered the new video ‘It’s All Going to Pot’ on Team Coco, the first single off their new album ‘Django and Jimmie’, produced by Buddy Cannon. The joyful tune sounds like an instant country classic for sure, and who could have thought that the drug revolution would have come from two octogenarians? (Willie is 81, Merle 78)… We live in a weed culture, and for once, we got grandpas for leaders!
‘Django and Jimmie’ will be out on June 2nd, and it’s actually a tribute to jazz guitarist Django Reinhardt and Jimmie Rodgers, so I guess not all the songs will be about weed smoking! But you certainly don’t need to smoke anything to enjoy this happy little anthem to the green leaf.
