I saw Earl Sweatshirt back when he was just a name Tyler dropped, till he invited Earl on stage at Hammerstein Ballroom back in 2012, one of the best concerts of the decade, and the legend became a goofy looking teen. Two albums later and Earl and Frank have emerged as the two OFs always worth the while, and the last time I saw Earl on stage, Tyler joined himand they were seriously awesome. With the superb I Don’t Like Shit, I Don’t Go Outside under his belt, this Saturday night gig at Best Buy is a must see.
Tuesday – Songs In The Key Of Life Live- Stevie Wonder – Prudential Center – If you haven’t caught it yet, catch it now, a true great performing true greats.
Thursday – Tony Lucca – Studio AT Webster Hall – The Voice runner up with hard nosed rocker Anna Rose opening
Friday – Joan Armatrading – The Town Hall – “Thank you, you took me dancing…”
Saturday – Jazmine Sullivan – Irving Plaza, she has one of the best r&b albums of the year recently released and has every reason to sell it hard on stage.
Sunday – Joey Bad$$ – Terminal 5 – With a very good album released earlier this year, there is nothing not to like about this first rate rhymer. “money ain’t a thing if I’ve got it…”. Words to live by.
