Based in Los Angeles, the event production Do LaB has for unique mission to create unique art installations/stages and curate cutting-edge acts at big music festivals such as Coachella, Lightning in a Bottle, or events taking place in far away countries such as the 2012 Winter Solstice event, The Great Convergence, at the pyramids of Giza in Egypt.

Since 2004, Do LaB has been construction an interactive stage inside the Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival and the stage promises to be once again fantastic with lighting structures, shade and misters creating a mini-oasis for the Coachella crowds to cool off. And this year the stage will draw its  inspiration from endangered whales.

As you know Coachella is held on two weekends — April 10-12 and April 17-19 this year — with the exact same lineup, whereas the Do LaB stage will change its lineup each weekend. This is what you can expect:

The first weekend lineup will include trap stars Loudpvck, techno-funk maestro Sebastien Leger, LA DJ collective Droog, The Glitch Mob’s Ooah, Washington D.C. reggae-funk act Fort Knox Five, underground house producer Edu Imbernon, Australian up-and-comer Cassian and Berlin-based house duo M.A.N.D.Y.  Additionally, Russ Liquid, Mihkal, Coyote Kisses, Lane 8, Joe Kay x Jay Prince, Justin Jay, Jackal, Jai Wolf, Jesse Wright, Hayden James, Falcons, Clozee, Dirtwire, Till Von Sein, Bit Funk, B.R.E.E.D., Addatap, An-ten-nae round out the first weekend’s bill. Lucent Dossier Experience returns with a new performance showcased both weekends.

During the second weekend you’ll be able to catch A Tribe Called Red, Adam Freeland, Andrew Luce, Atish, CRNKN, Dance Spirit, Dr. Fresh, GoldRush, Hoodboi, Hunter Leggitt, J. Philip, Lisbona, Kraddy, Louis Futon, Mija, Morillo, My Favorite Robot, Patricio, Pomo, Redux, Robot Koch, Sabo, TasyTreat, Tropicool, Whitehorse and Worthy.’

They promise ‘a mix of artists you may know and those you need to know’, and should I admit I don’t know any of the bands on the above list?… Which doesn’t mean anything since I am pretty out of the loop for the DJ-electro-techno-EDM scene.

‘I’m on an endless hunt for new and amazing music, and I’m excited that I get to share it–and even more so that people dig the music we share. If you don’t know any of the artists on the lineup–you will soon,’ explained Jesse Flemming, one of the founding members of The Do LaB,

Looking at some of the pictures on their website, the stages look very creative and exotic, so if you hit the desert very soon, do not forget to cool down by the Do Lab stage
