Backstage at last nights D’Angelo concert (my review will be up shortly) I got to chatting with some folks and was told that D’Angelo will be playing a concert in New York immediately following his European jaunt beginning February 11th in Zurich and ending March 7th.
he will return to the States and has another performance slated for March 11th though I am not sure where at this time. Apparently the instantaneous sellout of the Apollo gig caught the bands attention and one would expect the necessity for a bigger venue also caught someone’s attention. I know the March 11th concert will not be at the Apollo but otherwise I have no idea where it will be.
When I posted the presale code to the Apollo Theater gig last month the response was so large it is a wonder the website didn’t crash and my feeling it is possible he could sell out Barclay Center at this point, if he does perform at Barclay that means D’Angelo will have performed in both the Bronx and Brooklyn which leaves Manhattan for the last date of the tour.
One more gun? He should really play Governors Ball, it is exactly what is missing.
