– One More – Ne-Yo And T.I. – This is better than average by both of them, Ne-Yo ha his usual buttery voice but the song is a beauty and T.I, underplays it nicely (it is obviously Ne-Yo’s song), the lyric sucks but it’s a goodie – B+
– Parallel – jack white – As good as the best on the new album, this is a country folk rocker, a sorta genre buster – B+
– One Of These days – Gaz Coombes – Off hi first solo album, a little nothing much – B
– Jet Pack Blues – Fall Out Boys – that “rhythm of the rain keeps time” is so good, it makes this the one song that needs none of the usual stuff to signify. They shoulda given it to One Direction or the live action Jetsons reboot – A-
– L.A. Woman – Billy Idol – very seductive head on take – B+
– Anti-Summersong – The Decemberists – This is a sweet little folk number, swings sweet. First song off the new one that’s clicked with me – B+
– Someone Will Pay – Justin Townes Earle – A little more than usual – A
– What If I – Meghan Trainor – “what if I want to kiss you tomorrow”… sounds like Tracey Ullman covering Connie Francis – A
– Faster – Manic Street Preachers – One of the best off their masterpiece, the guitar solo is simple fast and loud – A
– All Summer Long A Capella – How brilliant, off the recent 1964 sessions album (which I am seriously thinking of reviewing), just about the most glorious thing you can hear during this winter of our discontent – A
