Since I am going to Governors Ball, and since I saw Bjork last time she played, an excellent gig at Roseland, I was gonna pass on the City Centre – Carnegie Hall gigs until…. TWO PM SATURDAY AFTERNOON CONCERTS!!! I’ve been gagging for these, and writing about the idea, for years and years. why the hell it doesn’t happen any more is beyond me. MSG used to have em all the time in the 60s and the 70s, but now they are so far out of the ordinary they basically never happen. And they must. And not 5pm shows either. 5pm completely sucks. Neither one nor the other. 2pm is the time for rock bands.
Back in the day CBGBs had weekend afternoon hardcore shows. What’s not to like?
I can’t wait for Bjork: a great show and an early night!!!
