That’s Ed Sheeran’s response to Noel Gallagher, who is getting a little old to pick fights with other UK musicians for no discernable reason except maybe jealousy, less than amused at Ed selling out three nights at Wembley “I don’t think I can live in a world where that’s even possible. When you hear that kind of polished pop and then there’s a ginger guy with a fucking guitar it seems subversive, but it’s fucking not.”
As opposed to the subversive Oasis? To be honest, I am not crazy about either Ed or Noel, Noel, always known to kick a fellow human being when he is down, was almost kind about Liam’s divorce from wife and band “He’s making a fucking mess of things at the moment, but we’ve all been there. I’ve been there. Something like that can be a great thing because you get to the bottom and you cleanse yourself of a lot of fucking shit baggage and you start again. I’m the kind of person that says, ‘Fuck it, take it’, and I’ll start again. And that would be my advice to him.”
About the recently demised Beady Eye: “They’re a fucking great band but they’re not great songwriters. They needed one great song. Not just a hit single, a great fucking tune. But I don’t think he’ll be out of the game forever.”
