There isn’t much but even if there was much, a post Christmas (Saturday, December, 27) performance by one Darlene Love at BB King’s might be enough to chase the blue Christmas away. Darlene or Ronnie? It’s a toss up, right? Darlene has a new Christmas album by the way. So, yeah, Christmas week top pick that’s all.
And then what? Actually, and then nothing… this is getting a little depressing, right? Actually, I am taking my Great-Niece to see Matilda on Tuesday December 23, and I am going to see the Knicks Christmas day but otherwise life is quiet on planet New York.
Here is the new Darlene Love album, It’s Christmas, Of Course… kinda interesting, there’s a “2000 Miles” and there’s a “Happy Xmas (War Is Over)” and who can complain about that? There is nothing at all wrong with the album and I’ve all but decided to go on the Saturday… Grade? B
I can live with Darlene as the patron saint of Christmas. It’ll do me as a non Christian (I’ve never come close, my Dad would’ve killed me when I was a kid and I had no interest as an adult, speaking of which, fave Christmas ever… nah, this ain’t the place. Now I’m happy to be alone…).
