Getting the boot in
Getting the boot in

1. Betray My Heart – D’Angelo, The vanguard – The question here is, is he being intentionally obtuse or
is his soul ear failing him. Sounds great either way – B+

3. All Things Go – Nicki Minaj – A full on ballad about the pains of success where she substitutes chutzpah for self-pity – B+

4.Lucky – Lewis Taylor – Another influence on the new d’Angelo, less new r&b and more experimental guitar jazz – B+

5. Brighter Days – Govt Mule – Off the new Pink Floyd album, here they cover themselves from 2006 and it is a great piece of jam – A

6. I Don’t Sell Molly No More – I LOVE MAKONNEN – Ot has the wobblies like ODB – A-

7. Winter Wonderland – Tony Bennett And Lady Gaga – Nice break in the middle – B

8. Smoke Signals – James Blunt Even when the song is OK, which this one is, the voice is incredibly irritating – C

9. Lonely One – Dresses – very pleasant indie Samba – B+
