Dead Poets Society
Smart, good looking, a good sport and a former member of the Brady Bunch (or at least that is what he looked like) David Brouilette is the Dickies fan of your dreams, but hear him here going further afield with a brace of current songs.
Shake It Off – Taylor Swift – The smash hit Tay track has been all over david’s Facebook wall lately, so obviously David doesn’t like to be pegged into one hole or the other. Taylor’s song to just saying “fuck it” is one of the years goodies – A
Tumbleweed -Neil Young – a sweet little ditty off the new Young Storytone but keep away from the orchestral version the solo one will do fine – B
Johnny Sincere – Deadbeat Poets – Nice rock and roller, old fashioned in a positive way. The piano, when it comes out of the mix from time to time is very Jamey Johnson. A clever one song rock opera takes you back to 1963 and keeps you there – B+
I Put A Spell On You – Annie Lennox – I liked this as well, till I got a load of some of the other songs on Nostalgia, and I still like it though I might not have chosen it to represent her excellent covers album – B+
Clouds – Prince – A broken down jazz funk workout but Prince can write these in his sleep and has done here, sorry David, I pass – C+
