Spend Your Next 4th Of July With The Foo Fighters?

Every where I go on the web, I read about Dave Grohl… there are periods like these, when some musician is exposed for a new show, a TV series, an album,… and when you have all of the above, well, everyone is talking about you.

So here we go, the Foo Fighters frontman plans a celebration for the 4th of July in Washington D.C., but it’s not gonna be any 4th of July, this one will celebrate the Foos’ 20th anniversary… and I am gonna say something a bit mean to Dave, don’t you think it is a bit pompous to hijack this day, because this one has already a big meaning right? Sure the Foo Fighters’ first album came out a 4th of July, but please…

The Foo Fighters will be headlining the show, with the help of a few friends such as Heart, Joan Jett, LL Cool J, Trombone Shorty, and artists that Grohl has interviewed on ‘Sonic Highways’ HBO series: Washington D.C.,’s go-go pioneers Trouble Funk, Chicago blues legend Buddy Guy, and Austin‘s soulful newcomer Gary Clark Jr.  Furthermore — and Grohl probably got the idea from Zac Brown whom he spent a considerable amount of time during the Nashville episode — there will be a big barbecue (Brown does this too), a motorcycle rally and of course fireworks… Hurrah! Bring me the red, white and blue napkins, this is what I call a 4th of July! Even the poster screams good old times, the whole thing is happening at RFK Stadium and tickets are already on sale….

Dave Grohl is having the time of his life, a new album (that so far everyone hates) and a TV series, but he was recently criticizing bands that tour behind one classic album, ‘I don’t like it when bands do that,’ he said, ‘It’s presumptuous. It’s lazy’… so don’t expect the Foo Fighters to play their debut album or any other of their albums on this 4th of July,… although can we even say the Foo Fighters have a classic album?
