1. Late Bloomer – Jenny Lewis – The verses are magnificent, as great s anything Jenny has written in years, and the bridge is lovely,  but ugh that chorus sucks. what the hell, is that what it means to have Ryan Adams help out? – B

2. Isn’t She Lovely – Stevie Wonder – written for his baby daughter, a song so beautiful it makes you ache – A+

3. Outer Space – A Legal Matter – Power pop beauty – B+

4. On A Level – wiley – He leaves Grime and becomes  all flow all the time, incredible dextrous spitting it tough – B+

5. We Don’t Need – The Pagans – Sounds more like Oi than punk, none the worse for it – B+

6. Low – Young Fathers – Gorgeous new hip hop, very melodic, very strong, the singing is beautiful, the rap considered and slow – A

7. Not Now No way – The Pagans – OK, now this is the essence of early punk – A-

8. Take A Chance On Me Live – Abba – From the live at wembley -it was always about how the harmonies carried the band but never clearer than here – B+

9. Blank Space – Taylor Swift – oh my god look at that face… – A

10. Stepchild – Jerry lee Lewis – I owned this as part of the Genuine Bootleg Tapes back in the 1990s, I think the original recording is from 1978, and Jerry Lee performs a very fine blues take of it – B+
