That Was The Week That Was: October 13th, 2014

Welcome to Taylor's Week
Welcome to Taylor’s Week

Week 42

Taylor Swift: This entire week belonged to Tay, Lena Durham said she wanted a Taylor Swift song at her wedding. Impressed? LENA IS DATING JACK ANTONOFF!! The Diet Pepsi commercial was so awesomely cute I still haven’t recovered and the song on it was fabulous; the new song (not single mind) “Out Of The Woods” is great EDM. Plus? 7 more days till 1989.

Live: Not much going on, the only one I saw was the lousy 102.7 Fall Fest. Meanwhile, still on the Taylor front I got my ticket for Jingle Ball in what looks like the pop show of the year and then some.

Recorded: I didn’t find myself listening to Jessie J very often but I did hear myself listening to Elliphant’s EP which is really pretty excellent modern pop… via Sweden of course. Meanwhile, readying myself for the CMJ Music Marathon I went back to Courtney Barnett who sounds really good.

Sports: The Seattle Seahawks have traded wide receiver Percy Harvin to the New York Jets. I know what you’re thinking but with any luck if Harvin punches anybody it will be Tom Brady.

Health: I still find it incredible the head of the CBC has never watched “28 Days”. You have to wonder about the CDC, I mean, really, putting that woman on a plane? This is bureacracy at its worse, it is so stupid it is almost unbelivable: it is one of those things where you can’t even begin to fathom what they were thinking. Or, actually, you can. You just know some person is clicking yes and no online and when s/he hit no to fever it immediately approved it and the thought process ended. really, pathetic.
