I spend most of my life at some what biggish gigs, I am a little too old and a little too busy to make my way to the warehouses in Williamsburg to see a a band at Baby’s All Right, though why there isn’t a decent rock club just off Steinway Street is beyond me. So given the circumstances, what interests me is time and place rather than specific bands. You catch enough, you’ll stumble onto pay dirt and any way, I wanna cover cover as much as I can as fast as I can.
So I’ve been analyzing the schedule of concerts and I now have a headache
So on I guess this is what it looks like. I’ll pass on the Press get together because I hate both press and get togethers, so why bother? I will pick up my credentials and rush like hell to Cakeshop for Beach Day at 1230pm. They’re an indie pop duo with a good album native Echoes released in the summer. At 630 I fancy Bowery Electric for the soulful Meghann Wright and I may hang around for another act or two.
I know there will be a lunch gig somewhere Wednesday, but for the evening this feels like a late night at the Living Room: 6:00 PLAID BRIXX, 6:35 PM Fictionist, 7:10 PM Somebody’s Darling, 7:45 PM BRAEVES amd maybe, if i have any energy left, 8:20 PM Alexz Johnson. Unfortunately, I will miss Emily Wolfe at 1040p, fortuntately they are playing earlier on Thursday…
Thursday at 1245p on Rockwood 2, yet another band featuring my friend Charles roth (he plays bass with the Bowerytones among many many other gigs) will be playing in the Rockwood Stage with the Lisa Colby Sound. And then back again for 7pm Emily Wolfe gig. Meanwhile the other two Rockwood stages have gigs going on earlier and later.
Here is a setlist and I will get to Friday and the biggest day of em all Saturday later on.
