Week: 41
Sports: They beat em high, they beat em low, but everywhere the Orioles go they beat Detroit like banging a goddam drum in the first round of the ALCS. It only took 20 years, but Buck Showalter has his revenge not just on the Yanks, who didn’t even make the playoffs, but everybody else as well. Not sure if it should be in the Sports column any more, but Jeter was pretty excellent on Fallon last Thursday.
Recorded: Thom Yorke’s Tomorrow’s Modern Boxes has been downloaded 1.2 Million times off BitTorrant so mission successful. Also, makes Bob Lefsetz look a little blinkered AGAIN. Lefsetz’s problem isn’t that he makes a decision and when he is proven wrong he just ignores his initial opinion. He did this with Beyonces album at the turn of the year. Instead of fessing up, he just ignored that he claimed it was what it obviously wasn’t: a disaster. Lefsetz is the Mike Francesca of music writers.
Live: Henry V – Billy Joel separated at birth at MSG, Bassnectar sampling Angel Haze at MSG.
Movies: The question is, and I am gonna have to check it out and find out for sure, is “Gone Girl” any good? I haven’t seen it or read a spoiler but based solely on the coming attractions I think I know just about everything that is gonna happen. Here I am now, entertainment.
