1. Childhood’s End – Majick Cloudz – I am catching em opening for one Lorde on Monday and so here is a taste of the Canadian electronic duo and I can’t say I am thrilled at the prospect: they sound like the Drums without the surf and with plenty of electronics and deep piddle paddle drums – B-

2. Leaving California – Maroon 5 – World class modern pop ballad and a vocal that reminds you that Adam can indeed sing – B+

3. Fault Lines – Tom Petty And the Heartbreakers – His best song in decades, takes a California metaphor and foes as fara s humanly possible with it – A

4. The Moon Song – Karen O and Ezra Koenig – How did I miss this? Oh wait, I didn’t, I forgot it – C

5. Hot Mess – Chromeo – Wat? – A

6. Gold Silver Diamonds – Generationals – Superior indie pop – B+

7. When The Summer Ends – Ryan Adams – Sounds like pop punk – B+

8. Alex Chilton – The Replacememnts – Legendary band, legendary song, yawn – B

9. 1,2,3 – Homeboy Sandman – Good to have Robert Christgau back here, so I don’t miss out on this excellent rapper – B+

10. In The Court Of Crimson King – Greg Lake – Sure, I hated ELP, but this is only L and he is covering, quite credibly, KG -B+
