I can’t say I am a huge fan of 102.7’s playlist.
I don’t hate it, just not thrilled by it. And I am not overjoyed by the musician list at 102.7’s Fall Fest at Beacon Theater October 16th. Maggie Mullen wanted to go and see Bleachers and I figured I’d tag along.
Still, Ingrid Michaelson is hotter that, well, certainly than October and Bleachers might have another hit in him, and… well, Neon Trees had an OK album that stiffed big time earlier this year and the lead singer came out as gig so good for him and Matt Nathanson… well arrive later, have that one last glass of wine.
This is, of course, mainstream pop second tier style but an introducing live introduction to bands you might not wanan see by themselves. I have seen Neon Trees before by the way and they were excellent so there is that and while I am not keen on Ingrid, she is the acceptable side of a Sarah Machlalen type vibey stuff.
The thing about all these acts is they define ordinary, never gonna be superstars but fast the first couple of hurdles where they can be part and parcel of some sort of 2010s revival tour in 2023, all they need is three hit songs and they are in, five hit songs and they can headline, ten and they aren’t on the nostalgia circuit at all.
So maybe must see is pushing it, how about may see?
