Rock Hood 2011 – on the road..

My name is Woody Fuller with Shinobi Ninja and we are here to rock.

One of the more crazy phases of my life has just begun.. I am officially on the road, acting as tour manager, with Shinobi Ninja. 6 Ninjas, 1 photographer, (Sergmatic), myself, van, trailer, and a shit ton of equipment; the entire rock circus ready to do the damn thing anytime, anywhere, as we roam through 15+ states and 40+ cities on our way to SXSW in Austin,TX.

As of this past Saturday night, (2/12), upstate NY, Boston, and Lowell, MA got a small Rock Hood taste in their mouth, but the ‘real’ trip didnt start until this past Tuesday with the “Rock Hood” music video wrap party in NYC and our move south to Baltimore, where we shared the stage with Dirty Names, Feed God Cabbage, Mac Boi, and Kosha Dillz.
Just another day in the neighborhood as we, or rather I, drive us to NJ to play a mid day acoustic set at a local Hot Topic, before our show in Philly right across the river. Lets get back to this acoustic set, if you have ever heard even one Shinobi song you know how weird it would be to transform that into an acoustic set. DA told me it would their first acoustic set ever, and as the talented musicians they are, they held it down with this new twist on the Shinobi sound. Pack up and head to Philly. Rock. As soon as set ends, DJ Axis Powers packs up and heads to The Blockley to rock a college night after party for 700+ people, Baby G and DA join him. He rocks the crowd, DA and Baby G make an appearance on  I drive to come pick them up, some SUPER DUPER CRAZY event goes down, (story to follow with “super duper crazy story time”.) He make it back to my house in Silver Spring where we are crashing by 6am, just in time to wake up at 9am to head to my high school, Sandy Spring Friends, to rock for some die hard music loving kids during their lunch break. This was surprisingly a fun and good show. Pack up and head to Fairfax for another Hot Topic show, which was also quite successful and fun, even with the Mall Nazi’s abusing their little power to tell me I cant pass out Shinobi Ninja stickers to kids.. you fuckheads.
Too much is happening right now in my life to get into much of any more detail or write anything too interesting. Being on tour is like having a child.. you rest/nap/sleep whenever possible. Sorry. Richmond tomorrow for a double daily dose of dope gigs. LA on Monday for New Music Seminar, ( more on NMS from Alyson). I’ll check back in whenever i get some time to breathe in between sleeping, eating, traveling, rocking, solving, meeting, networking, planning, calling, fixing, and always keeping my cool. Be safe.
