Get Me Memphis, Tennessee... No?
get Me Memphis, Tennessee… No?

1. Tokyo, Oklahoma – John Anderson – I’m a big fan so not sure how this song passed me by but Steve Crawford’s momento mori of Mack Vickery (you’ll find it at the top of today’s rock nyc), turned me on to it: a country blues work out stomps its way with so much smarts – A

2. Tzenni – Noura Mint Seymali – Starts off like an Islam pray and then turns a sharp left into Moorish rockabilly and spins into a dance track – A

4. Bbm – Turbo Goth – Gorgeous wall of electronic melody and hot vocal – A-

5. Domino – Van Morrison – The lyric is off kilter, it is like a rebellious jukebox – A

6. Dweller On The Threshold – Van Morrison – enlightenment? What does it mean? – A

7. Sweet Baby James – James Taylor – I’ve got a feeling I’m gonna be hearing a lot of this – A+

8. Other Side – Cam’ron – This is as heavy as rap gets: nothing like the young kids, just a dangerous booming beat and two first rate rappers and a feel of a life forced where it went to – A-

9. Good-bye-eee – – Courtland And Jeffries – A masterpiece of death and war like a WWI nursery rhyme – A+

10. Ol’ Lady – Big Freedia – Opening for Chromeo at Summerstage in September, wait till you get a load of this – A-
