Whatever your taste and wherever it may or may not coincide with the free for all 4Knots festival at the Southside Seaport, still, nobody can deny the garage rocking , country hawking Those Darlins, a band I’ve planned on catching yp with for a coupla years now. And did I mention it is free? Saturday, July 12th 1pm – 8pm
Monday – Mary Bridget Davies – BB Kings – Broadway’s Janis Joplin
Monday – Michael Buble – Madison Square Garden – Terrific live performer, this Canadian is the standard bearer for the Great American Songbook…. the prices are ridiculous.
Tuesday – Crosby, Stills And Nash – Beacon Theater – As we eagerly await the 1974 CSN&Y live album, it is worth mentioning that they are better than ever in 2014
Wednesday – Katy Perry – MSG – The new album loses the playfulness of the first two but hopefully the live show will bring it back.
Wednesday – DIIV – MHOW – Dreamy pop from a Beach Fossil
Friday – Jay Z And Beyonce – Metlife – I hear it is over rehearsed. Perhaps, but the setlist is epic.
Friday – Procol Harum – Manhattan Center Grand Ballroom – Prog rock psycehdelia from way back
Friday – Romeo Santos – Yanke Stadium – The Justin Timberlake of Aventura riding another Bachata hit album.
Friday – Phish – Randall’s Island – They were dozy as fuck when I saw em at MSG last December, but Fuego is a very good album and it might actually rejuvenate them.
Saturday – Ab Soul – Webster Hall – 4Knots afterparty, with the best rap album of the year released, now he shows how to do it live.
