Pete Wentz Relaunches Decaydance Records

Wentz is Back
Wentz is Back

Pete Wentz started his own record label, Decaydance, back in 2005, and signed bands that are massive now such as Cobra Starship, Panic! At The Disco, and Gym Class Heroes.  He’s announced that he is revamping, rebranding, relaunching the label in a new chapter- DCD2.  The first two artists to sign to DCD2 are Lolo and New Politics, two already successful bands that are now going to be able to grow and be even more popular with the help of Pete Wentz’s fame.

He announced the label on the 12th, and made this statement:  “the idea behind the label originally was a gang, something that would be us versus the world… i took a few years off the same time the band did but i didnt stop listening to new music… i always felt like it was my responsibility to nurture and magnify the profile of other artists… today we begin doing that again. today i want to announce DCD2- this is the next chapter, the renaissance, and i’d like to welcome New Politics and LOLO to the family. i feel like i have more time to devote to this again and the state of music is so exciting right now. though we are launching this independently we are open to working with people who are dedicated, passionate and interested in finding new ways to operate. stay tuned for more announcements coming soon. welcome to decade 2. DCD2. PW”
Wentz sure knows how to grow and nurture businesses, having had a clothing line previously.  He’s on the right track with renouncing his label with FOB’s ever growing fame, and it makes sense to mention it again post-hiatus.  I can’t wait to see who else he signs.
