Walk Like A Man
Walk Like A Man

1. 11 O’Clock Friday Night – Hamilton Leithauser – The Walkmen are on indefinite hiatus, so the lead singer Hamilton has corralled some superstars of indie for his solo album, and it sounds quite good (the instrumental break works like a hook), and he has an arresting voice, catchy but limited – B

2. Beautiful Liar – Lyn Bowtell – Liar-Fire is obvious, and she doesn’t bother with the conundrum rhyme, but that just proves the emotional truth at the heart of one of her greatest songs – A

3. Echo Boomer – Fucked Up – FU by the numbers – B

4. I Don’t Know You Anymore – Bob Mould – I tend to agree with Alyson Camus here, it sounds so very very much like Bob Mould – A

5. Fell On Black Days – Soundgarden – The height of grunge in this sinking metal work – A

6. Whole Lotta Love – Led Zeppelin – Vocal tour de force, though relatively restraint and without the hook in place – B+

7. I Just Don’t Like This Kind Of Living – Hank Williams – Recommended to Lydia Loveless, that gutar solo is awesome – A

8. Chain My Name – Polica – Goth-y rockers who didn’t thrill me at Govs Ball last year but are pretty good on this newbie – B

9. Love Interruption – One of his best songs, for some reason he isn’t playing it on this tour – A

10. Wings – Haert -1.6M streams and they are the first band on the first day at Govs Ball… – B
