Brendon Urie Sues Former Roommate For Stealing Nearly $130k

I’m not sure but I think either Brendon Urie’s being a bit of a diva, or his old roommate is a scum bag.  Apparently he’s suing Shane Valdez, said former roommate, who stole money from him over the years they were living together.  Valdes, the alleged thief, is a videographer who has worked with Panic! in the past and lived with Urie from 2008 to 2010.

Here’s where Urie sounds like a moron.  He gave his roommate access to his personal bank account to “pay shared living expenses.” Something’s fishy there.  I understand trusting your roommate but that’s a stupid move and I really don’t think he’s that stupid.  Someone is at fault here, and I’ve a feeling it’s Valdez. Urie didn’t realize until November of 2013 that Valdes had made 70 withdrawals from his account, amounting to $127,269.54.
TMZ’s been all over it, and this statement was released: “Urie says Valdez [sic] copped to taking the money, but that an attorney for Valdez [sic] says the money was used for a documentary about Urie’s life. Urie says the pair never discussed any such project.
Shane tells TMZ the lawsuit is ridiculous, even though he hasn’t seen it yet. ‘We were best friends for a long time and there is nothing about his claims that are true.'”
To be honest, I highly doubt Urie gave Valdez all of his personal bank account info because even if you’re best friends with someone, you don’t share that stuff unless you’re married.  Also, let me just say, I wish I had enough dough to not realize I was missing nearly $130k for three years.  I’ve no idea what is going on, I just hope it’s resolved soon and someone steps up and tries to be the bigger man.
