1. Take Me To Church – Hozier – This former member of Dublin’s Trinity Choir has a very soulful voice and in last years’ breakthrough song he gives it full reign over a lovely anthemic pop song – B+

2. That It Won’t grow – Avey Tare’s Slasher Flick – Here is where the Animal Collective guitarist breaks a little free from the bands shadow, the first minute or so are quite exciting  and then it staggers a little too much – B

3. Heart Of Darkness – Black Label Society – The best song off the newbie, but I still can’t take the lead singers voice – C+

4. Smoulder – EMA – This week’s sleeper album has a wall of soulfulness – B+

5. The Third rail – Heathers – quite liked it on the first listen, by the third it had lost me – C

6. Louder Than A Loaded Gun – Winner of the stupidest song title of the year award – C-

7. Hypnotized – Off! – The honest roar, etc – B+

8. Real Life (Angel) – Another beauty – A-

9. Come See About me – Martina McBride – Really? I wonder what Diana Ross thinks…  – C

10. High maintenance with Hot Chelle Rae – John Oates – the love that dare not speak its name… disco – B
