Periphery's Spencer Sotelo Takes Over Lead Vocals For From First To Last

From First To Last isn’t dead yet?  I thought ever since Sonny Moore became Skrillex it was over. Unfortunately, it’s not.  Spencer Sotelo of Periphery is now the vocalist for FFTL, and it’s pretty surprising that they have this dude whose name is not established whatsoever take over for a relatively big name.

Last year they said they were back, and went to fund their way to an album through their fans.  They had a $25k goal, reached it, and are using the money to make a new record.  Sotelo is doing lead vocals for this album, but apparently he’s going to be the singer for both bands now.
From First To Last is continuing on as Matt Good, Derek, Matt Manning and Travis.  With the addition of Sotelo, the band is probably going to be taking a drastic turn.  Their last release was in 2010, “Throne to the Wolves”, and I’m sure this upcoming record is set to be pretty dynamic.  To be honest, From First To Last isn’t that talented as a band, because musically, they’re pretty mediocre, but I have a feeling that Sotelo is going to step in an alleviate this.  On their last release, their sound was cookie-cutter pseudo-hardcore, and it pretty much tanked.
Listening to Periphery is enough to give anyone a bit of hope that FFTL’s new album will be at least tolerable.  The vocals are better and in the few times I’ve heard Sotelo’s voice, I’ve been pleased with it.  It has a good crisp clear sound that will certainly improve the quality of From First To Last’s music, and maybe I’ll become a fan all over again.  Middle school me is becoming incredibly nostalgic
