1. Blue Collar Jane – The Strypes – we had a word for this when I was a whippersnapper, pub rock. By which we mean rhythm and blues with rock drums by proles, here proles out of Ireland and no wilko Johnson’s legacy isn’t in question. Actually it is enhanced – B+

2. Under Pressure Live At Wembley Stadium 1986 – Queen – Overrated? Absolutely, But at least they weren’t pretentious – B

3, Everybody Hustles Leo – Mark Mulcahy- Master songwriter on drugs and disasters – B

4, Going To The Ceremony – Kid Cudi – More r&b than rap, like he took the half of “Pursuit Of Happiness” you didn’t expect him to – B

5. (You’re so square) Baby I Don’t Care –  Queen – Freddie brings the doo wop to Elvis -his roots are showing – B+

6. I Sold My Bed, Not My Stereo – Shoulda sold their drum machine – C

7. In My Life – The Beatles – McCartney claimed to have written the melody to this one. It doesn’t sound like it – A+

8. What A Wonderful World – Louis Armstrong – Recorded weeks before he died, producer John Barry once told me how ill yet how wonderful he was – A+

9, War Pigs – Black Sabbath – Could this be any more sludgy and sinky and thick? – A

10. Magic – Coldplay – This ain’t gonna do it, there better be better elsewhere – C
