Recorded: Not a bad week and if we have many more albums as good as Adventures In Bluesland and Post Tropical, it might end up being a very very good year. If you include the yet to be released Half-Life and last years Bernie Worrell and Angel Haze it is absolutely a better year than last year.

Live: Was about the future, I got my tix for Governor’s Ball, not to mention Rufus Wainwright, which saves me from facing how upset I was with Aretha rescheduling and Morris Day not giving the performance he needed to.

Personal: rock nyc is revolving around Donna McElroy in hospice, it is all we can think about and all we care about.

National News: Anybody who is surprised that the Government is snooping into every aspect of your life needs to take comfort in the thought that the only way anyone can make sense of all this information is through filters. Otherwise it is infinite binary.

Local News: Bill di Blasio to change the world and some of us can use it certainly, but there is one place you need to leave alone: the police. There are less police, more citizens, less people being jailed and less crime. If it ain’t broke don’t fix it.

Sports: Will J.R. please stop acting like a three year old and will Woody please coach the Knicks.
