The American Music Awards will air on November 24th and I’m not sure how this went down but someone thought Pitbull would be a good host. Mr. 305 is fabulous, a great entertainer and a lady killer if he keeps his sunglasses and shirt on but a host? I cant say he is the most articulate and his nervous laugh can be grating but can we just question who thought this would work?
Luke Bryan, Miley Cyrus, Florida Georgia Line, Lady Gaga, Imagine Dragons, Kendrick Lamar, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis and One Direction. More performers will be announced in the coming weeks- and Pitbull will be the host. He will join past hosts like Helen Reddy and Glen Campbell.
Having Pitbull host may be reason enough to watch. Award shows are lame bu the American Music Awards is one of the worse. Not big enough to be a mega gala and well, does anyone really like awards shows? I, for one, have never discovered a new group or found a new sound by watching these shows- on the contrary it seems just a vehicle to resuscitate expired entertainment.
But PITBULL as the HOST? This could be the oddest programming choice of 2013. There is no doubt in my mind that it will be a hilarious hot mess. Can’t wait!
