It’s sad. Lost Prophets are a band who never really made it as big as I thought they would and who have had to pull the plug after what they refer to as ‘a year of heartache’.
See a year of heartache is an understatement when youre lead singer is accused of molesting infants. Ian Watkins and two females who somehow remain nameless are charged with 23 counts of child abuse. Serious stuff but for the 35 year old frontman, the end of a career and the end of any hope of a career in any field. His life is over, innocent or guilty he is now that punk pervert who raped babies.
The band released a statement of their disbanding on Facebook
“We can no longer continue making or performing music as Lostprophets,”After nearly a year of coming to terms with our heartache, we finally feel ready to announce publicly what we have thought privately for some time.
“Your love and support over the past 15 years has been tremendous, and we’ll be forever grateful for all you’ve given us.
“As we look forward to the next phase of our lives, we can only hope to be surrounded by people as devoted and inspiring as you guys have been.”
So here’s what you do. You pick a new name find a new charismatic front man and you get your asses back out there riding the coat tails of the LP fan base. BAM there you are again playing next years Warped Tour.
The band name has to end but the band does not. Ian will be doing time and most likely off himself in the pen so it’s best to keep the dream alive right away. Good Luck to all.
