Poor Fiona Apple, she completely lost it on Thursday night, but she was totally right! According to Women’s Wear Daily, the singer stormed off the stage during a Louis Vuitton party in Tokyo. The party was celebrating ‘Timeless Muses’, an exhibit honoring Vuitton’s most inspiring women such as Catherine Deneuve, Kate moss, Sofia Copola, Françoise Sagan, among others, and Apple had been invited to perform during the event.
Unfortunately, the crowd didn’t care for her and her fabulous songs, and continued chatting despite Apple’s desperate attempts to attract everyone’s attention; she climbed on top of her piano, asked the audience to be quiet, even told them to be silent ‘for the duration of a tone she created by striking a small metal bell’. But nothing worked, so she screamed ‘shut the fuck up’, called everyone ‘rude’, and finally got so frustrated, she stormed off the place while saying ‘Predictable! Predictable fashion, what the fuck?’
She was right, when you have someone of the caliber of Fiona performing in front of you, you just shut up! People were very rude… but what was she expecting? Why did she accept to perform at such an event? These mondains weren’t here to listen to music, they were there to be seen and Fiona should haven’t been there in the first place. She doesn’t belong to this word, and what happened was very predictable, as she said. Her music should never, never considered as background music (and this is what happened in Tokyo) and these self-absorbed ‘beautiful people’ were too busy hanging out with their owns… did they even know who Fiona Apple was?
Anyway, Fiona is an animal lover, right? Didn’t she cancel a tour because of her dying dog?? And Vuitton manufactures lots of leather goods right? Enough said!
