If they can fill the Staples center, they can fill… the Troubadour? Nine Inch Nails has announced a surprise and super intimate show at the small club on September 3rd, and good luck if you want to get in! They are currently on tour in arena-sized venues, supporting the release of their new album ‘Hesitation Marks’, so this show at the famous West Hollywood venue is quite a surprise. Despite the fact that Los Angeles is still recovering from the FYF fest, this is gonna be the hottest ticket in town post Labor day!

So how do you get in? I shouldn’t tell you because it decreases my chances to get in but my chances are already so astronomically low that I don’t care! You can try to enter your info on the KROQ website, (the radio runs the contest) but if you win do not forget about me, since you get a pair, I said you get a pair of tickets. By the time this will be posted it will be too late anyway, but you can also try to listen to KROQ and call them at (800) 520-1067, when they say to do so and be caller 9… however I can guarantee you will never get through.

You can also try to stop by your favorite record store on Monday at 10 pm (Amoeba in Hollywood, Fingerprints in Long Beach, Rhino in Claremont or Sound Spectrum in Laguna Beach) and enter the raffle. They don’t say how many people will actually win, probably very few, but I would say that your chances are better than with KROQ. And it says ‘no purchase necessary’ on the NIN website, meaning you don’t have to buy the buy ‘Hesitation Marks’ to enter the raffle! But the cool thing is that ,if you do, you’ll get a free menu item from the food truck parked outside the store, so you don’t lose everything.

On the other hand, ‘Hesitation Marks’ can be streamed on iTunes, and I am listening to it right now. I have never been a huge fan of their industrial post-rock beats but this cinematic urgency, this malaise building a sick grove in the first song ‘Copy of a’, sound claustrophobically interesting. The Troubadour has a maximum capacity of may be 400, so it will certainly be a mad house.
