How cool is Warped Tour?! So for Fathers Day the tour announced that all Dads would get in free for their Portland OR stop. It was such a hit, that it’s a done deal!
For the duration of the 2013 run each paid child will allow for 1 free parent ticket. Mom and Dad, youre out of excuses! This has to be one of THE KINDEST and true rock and roll moves from a mega tour-ever. So many parents use the ‘you’re too young or I’m not driving you that far only to turn around and get you’
”We’ve been noticing on our boards lots of fans without transportation,” explains tour founder Kevin Lyman. “We decided everyday for 2013 should be Mother’s and Father’s day, so we will celebrate by giving any parent who is bringing someone to the Warped Tour a ticket to enjoy the fun.”
This is in addition to the already established ‘Reverse Daycare’ tents. Air Conditioned tents with movies and beverages where Dad can chill while his kid goes bonkers in a mosh pit. Fabulous brilliant well thought out event that gets better every day. It warms my heart (rough task!) to see promoters and planners really thinking outside the box to bring a show to the people. Lets face it- Lyman isn’t stupid, if your parent is there all you have to do is run and beg for cash and whammo, more merch is sold. It’s a win win win!
Oh also, about that transportation issue. Rock & Bus which provides round trip shuttles to venues. Some venues have shuttles that are dedicated to Warped shows. Check the venue website for more information on easy public transportation routes and venue shuttles for specific Warped shows.
